Delca Corporation sent Gracie some of their think!Dog Treats to try out. She was more than happy to try out the treats. They sent us three different varieties of their quality, USA made treats: Louisiana Crawfish with Alligator Jerky, and two vegetarian options- Peanut Butter and Sweet Potato Soft Chews. Each treat has 20 calories and Delca recommends giving a dog Gracie’s size 7 to 9 treats. I already knew Gracie likes Sweet Potato, but she usually avoids Peanut Butter. I am not sure if it is the smell or the taste that she does not like, but if I try to give her anything with peanut butter she will usually set it to the side.
Gracie has no issue trying out the vegetarian treats, as she is a huge veggie and fruit lover. I think that it would be interesting to try these treats out on a dog who does not necessarily love vegetables and see if they notice that they are meat free. Since I was unsure of how she would react to the peanut butter chew, I decided to try that one first.
She reacted how I pretty much expected. She took the treat from me and set it down. This was not a surprise as that is how she normally reacts to peanut butter. However, after she tried the other two treats, she went back to the peanut butter treat and ate it. I then offered her another of the peanut butter treats and she ate it right away. So even though she was hesitant to try the peanut butter, she liked it once she gave it a chance.
Her favorite flavor was the Louisiana Crawfish and Alligator. I was curious to see if she would like these flavors as I had never given her anything with either crawfish or alligator in it. She absolutely loved these treats. She got very hyper and excited after I gave her the first of the Louisiana treats, and chose that one when I offered her all three together. I will definitely need to remember that she likes those flavors in the future!
I especially enjoyed using the Delca think!dog treats for Gracie. I think that they would make great training rewards, as well as great in-between meals treats. The treats are also wheat, corn, and soy free. I have included images at the bottom of this page with the ingredient lists of the three treats. I recommend these treats for any dog parents looking to give their dogs wholesome and quality treats. Gracie enjoyed both the vegetarian and meat treats.
